I found a vehicle I was interested on the internet at St. Mina Auto Sales. I live in New Mexico, 745 miles from Montclair, CA. I called the dealership and spoke to the owner. I asked him about the vehicle and he gave me all the answers I needed to decide that I wanted the vehicle. I told him I had a vehicle I would like to trade in towards the 2008 Chevy Silverado they had advertised. We made a deal over the phone and I drove to Montclair. I met the owners son, as the father was on vacation. He handled the transaction promptly and everything worked out fine for both parties. I drove the vehicle home and it ran beautifully. Mina, the son, was very polite and I can honestly say this was a good experience and I'm a very satisfied customer.

Where do I start with St Mina Auto Sales....they are great! Both Mac and Mina are so helpful and very honest. I flew in from Arizona to buy my car from Mina. I had to do a nationwide search to find the Solara Convertible to replace mine that was so rudely crashed and totaled. I gave Mina a deposit to hold it for me over the weekend and flew in Monday with my fingers crossed. My local friends drove me to see the car. We were all very impressed. They are very honest and answered my questions. He even offered a warranty that is bumper to bumper and made my husband more comfortable. It was reasonably priced so I added it. I recently purchased a used SUV here, and I couldn't have been happier with the experience. This is a used car lot, but unlike the typical used car lot, they do not have pushy, stereotypical salespeople. When I first arrived, they asked me which vehicle I was interested in checking out. I asked to see the SUV, and they opened it up for me to take a look at the interior. They then asked if I'd like to test drive it. This is where it got interesting. Usually a salesperson comes along on the test drive, probably for a couple of reasons like: (1) to continue to sell you on the merits of the vehicle so you'll purchase it, and (2) make sure you aren't driving crazy. Here, they handed me the keys, asked for my driver's license and let me test drive the vehicle on my own. I was surprised, but appreciated the freedom to test the car out without a pesky salesperson telling me how great the car is, where to turn, etc. I was interested in the vehicle, so the negotiation process began. I never once got the feeling that they were trying to take advantage of me or rip me off. In fact, I feel like I got a great deal. It ends up that these guys are a family run business. In my opinion, they do business the right way, and I would gladly purchase another vehicle from them.

Like others have said, I did not feel once that I was cheated or hassled, and they were polite people. I cosigned with my boyfriend and got a great low rate! This will most likely be a long review, so I'll state my conclusion up front: St. Mina's is great. I really can't say enough good things about them. This was my first time buying a car, so I was nervous. Super nervous. I think I'm a pretty savvy person and I can tell when I'm being scammed or strung along. But at the same time, I don't know a whole lot about cars, and all that comes along with them (loans, payments, etc). I was getting some advice from family over the phone, but at the end of the day, it was my responsibility to do the work. I drove the 40 miles to St. Mina's based on the ONE yelp review before mine. Almost every other car dealership I looked up had terrible reviews, so I was willing to drive a ways to hopefully have a good experience. At St. Mina's, they never tried to pressure me, or use any weird sales tactics, or trick me into buying a car. Most importantly, they didn't treat me like an idiot because I'm a female. I brought my boyfriend with me for moral support, but when I told them the car was for me, they addressed me and not him (I had read that many places will talk to the guy, no matter how many times you make it clear YOU, the girl, are the one buying the car). I decided to do my financing through the dealership, and that was painless. They set me up with a credit union that they said is really great and I will most likely be able to use again in the future. The guys at St. Mina's were totally transparent and willing to answer every one of my questions--and I had a lot of them. Again, I never felt like they were trying to trick me just to make a sale. They were honest with their pricing and double checked all the numbers with me, once the deal went through. I'm so happy with my experience with St. Mina's. Buying a new car will never be super fun for me, but they made it about as easy as it could possibly be. I highly recommend them--even though it's a bit of a drive for those who live in LA, it's so worth it to be able to deal with honest people.

I bought a 2007 Volkswagen rabbit from St. Mina's in End of July/August of last year . I wanted to wait a few months to see how the car held up before I just dove in and wrote a review so this is a lil overdue, but as the saying goes: "It's better late, than never..." Rating: 5 stars Here's why: * My first experience buying a car for myself, so there were alot of things I didn't understand in regards to auto loans, steps necessary to purchase a car, signs to look out for, etc. I tried to do a bit of research online and it helped a bit, but gaining knowledge without yet applying it/having experience is quite different than actually being experienced, so I was was wary about the whole process/nervous because you hear all of these horror stories about people buying car's from private dealerships. Mainly that you might end up with a "lemon" and the sales people were mainly just trying to make their numbers and aren't quite concerned with the actual product they're providing. I didn't want to get taken advantage of and stuck with a car that sucked/didnt work AND a loan that was out of control. There was a car listed in yahoo's auto listings that was from St. Mina's website. I appreciated that the CARFAX history was provided and that they had an actual working website that was updated regularly....(that provided transparency about the cars they were selling, and gave a sense that they cared about their business/customers to make it as easy as possible for the customer to access information upfront. It's absolutely necessary these days....) (Awesome#1) I made an appt. with Mina on the phone and went down to check the car out. I described my situation to Mina and mentioned that this is my first time buying a car and that I would need financing, etc. and wanted to explore my options before making a descision. This is where the difference was from St. Mina's in comparison to the 4 other dealerships I had also visited: Mina understood that I didn't know the in's and out's and that I didn't want to get ripped off or stuck with a bad car... He explained to me that financing for a first time buyer usually will come with a high interest rate and that I should explore different options to secure the car loan I needed, because dealership financing would be much higher due to my factors. He didn't have to do that, but he did...(Awesome#2) I went home and did more research, called different banks etc., went to check out a couple other cars at other places.... and called Mina back for more help a few times. He was open with the info and didn't lay any pressure about whether or not I was going to buy the car from him or not. I got a loan through my bank at a way lower rate than what any of the dealerships I had talked to...Mina was right. (Awesome#3) I ended up not being able to get the car I originally wanted (2005 tiburon) because my loan was approved for a 2007 or higher vehicle (depreciation factor) so he suggested a car on the lot that did fit my loan requirements (My VW rabbit :) and at first I was like ehhhh....I heard from some peeps that vw are hard to maintain and have problems... Mina was like "What do you mean? They're good cars." So I went home and did research on that specific car, because hell, people can be wrong and Mina's been straight up with me the whole time...and he was right...again. It had great reviews and consumer reports were strong. (awesome#4) So I went back for the fifth time, (after calling back for the 8th time), and had decided to purchase the VW Rabbit. Mina was off, so his dad helped me with the paperwork and was very kind & patient with me. He explained all the paperwork to me clearly, and answered all my questions. He gave me the keys on good faith that I would bring him the check from the bank (after I signed all my loan docs, etc.) in a couple days. (AWESOME #5. WHO TRUSTS PEOPLE LIKE THAT THESE DAYS? Once again, they did not have to do that, but they did, because they wanted to help me out..) I had mentioned to the Dad that I had read their reviews on Yelp* and that instill confidence for me about them and thanked him and Mina for everything because they truly went above and beyond what was necessary. He said he appreciated the sentiment and mentioned "Hey, see the reviews helped you... maybe sometime after you might do the same thing....maybe you'll write a review and mention your experience on that website and it might help other customers down the line....." So here we are... Finally got to write my review and voice how awesome they are at ST. Mina's Auto Sales and hope it does help somebody as well. I'd recommend them to anyone and everyone.

My son and I had come here earlier today to test drive a Honda Civic; we enjoyed the drive so much that we decided to buy it. And we did, we just bought our third car from St. Mina Auto, and as usual the process went very smooth. Both of the previous cars we bought here were in excellent conditions, we've only had to maintain them ('02 Lexus and '13 Prius) over 3 years. The pricing is unmatchable (as compared to other dealers around us). Mina and Magdy, the owners, are both honest and pleasant to deal with. All in all, we've only had positive experiences buying cars from this dealer.

This was my fourth experience buying a car from a used car lot, and it was by far the best! I have no doubt that I would return in the future to purchase another car, and will highly recommend this lot to friends and family in the market for a used car. I love my new (used) car! I bought a 2003 Nissan Altima in mid- October from this car lot, after much research and searching for the right car online via Autotrader and Cars.com. My previous car was totalled in an accident so I had been without a vehicle for approximately three weeks prior to coming here for this particular car. I had already gone to look at multiple cars before this one, but was constantly dissapointed when I actually saw the cars in person compared to the descriptions and pictures. This was most definitely NOT the case for this lot! The website shows more pictures than most other car lots that I had checked out, along with the free Carfax report, so there was no surprises when I arrived to test drive and purchase the car. Also, I had called ahead and spoke directly with the owner Mina regarding final pricing after all fees and taxes. He was clear and straight-forward, and all my questions and concerns were answered. So the next day, my husband, 2 year old, and I went to see the car. I like the fact that they let me test drive the car without a salesperson accompanying me; just a photocopy of my drivers' license, and off I went! My husband and I both took it on a separate test drive so as to not have to transfer the carseat just to test drive, and again, they had no problem with that at all. At this point, the actual buying process began. It was surprisingly fast and efficient. No unexpected charges or haggling. The price was exactly as Mina and I had discussed over the phone before coming down. I never felt like Mina was being pushy or dishonest in any way at all. He offered the warranty only once, and when I declined, that was it. No lecture or persuading after I said no. That was a first in my experience! I bought the car outright, so I have no input as far as their terms for financing. At the end of the purchasing process, Mina even gave my 2 year old son $10 back out of what I had paid in cash for the car, which was a nice gesture for sure! A couple weeks later, I had not received my DMV registration or pink slip, so I called Mina and asked about it. He was still very prfessional and polite and assured me that it had been placed in the mail the day prior. He told me if it did not arrive within a few days to call him back to fix the matter. Sure enough, it arrived in the mail the next day, along with a refund check of overpaid fees! Woohoo! All in all, a great experience, and my car is running perfectly, as I had no doubt it would!
